Jungle Safaris in India

Jungle safaris are an adventurous experience and quite a special mix of fun, nature, and an opportunity to see wildlife in its natural habitat. You can be an experienced traveler or a person who has just planned the first safari in your life, but there is one thing which does not change—the opportunities are countless to dive into nature and explore the wilderness. Jungle safaris put you in some of the biodiverse ecosystems on the planet, from dense rainforests to dry savannahs.

In this blog, we discuss some of the best destinations where you can have an unimaginable experience in a jungle safari.

1. Jim Corbett National Park

The Jim Corbett being the first national park in India is a historical destination and one of the most recognizable safari parks in India. It is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas and it is famous due to the presence of Royal Bengal Tigers and thus wildlife enthusiasts flock to this destination. Its diverse topography with grasslands, forests and riverine habitats (the park has different topography) supports more than 600 species of birds and various mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

2. Ranthambore National Park

A sanctuary tends to be a combination of the various ecosystems and one of the most prominent features is the dense forests. Such tropical, temperate, and boreal forests are a home to an unbelievable diversity of flora and fauna. Lush green canopy provides relief to the sun as well as provides a magical ambience to the surrounding among the tall trees. You will be surrounded by forest scents of wet ground and sometimes wild flowers as you walk through a ground trail.

Birds and insects contribute to the sound mix along with squirrels, deer, and other animals that go about in the shadows. Forests are the best place to have some solitude and to view the world of biodiversity in its own natural way. Trekking along these paths is not only a physical adventure but also an emotional experience of getting into the depth of nature.

3. Kanha National Park

Any sanctuary with freshwater ecosystems is the soul of flowing rivers and cascading waterfalls. The scene of waterfalls with its grandeur and deafening noise is also a marvel to watch. You do not only look good, but are essential to the immediate environment. Waterfalls generate the mist that enriches the air and the water pools on the ground granting a residence to the aquatic species.

You will meet more people and have more fun if you stay at one of these hostels. Most of them include common areas where you can chat to other travellers and receive tips on where to go and what to do. In Udaipur and Jaipur, you may stay in one of the numerous antique homes that have been turned into guesthouses for a lot less money than a royal hotel.

4. Coastal Sanctuaries and Beaches

To people attracted to the sea, coastal sanctuaries offer a rare chance to discover the ocean life, and ecology that flourish on the coasts. These regions are usually sand beaches, rocky coasts and tidal areas which harbor a variety of organisms.

Coral reefs, tide pools and the sandy beaches are the homes of many sea creatures among them being the crabs, starfish and the colorful fish. Bays and inlets are also sometimes a breeding ground of sea turtles, seals and seabirds and thus it is vital to conserve them. Waves crashing, saltwater air, various maritime life make the experience of people visiting this place unforgettable.

5. Grassland and Savannahs

The grasslands and savannah are very important ecosystems that have always been sidelined in favor of forests and wetlands. But there is another sort of charm in these large, bare, open places. The wide plain of the golden grasses lifted in the breeze gives one that much-needed feeling of freedom and space that not many other settings can offer. Grasslands are among the lively and most interesting places to visit in a sanctuary due to its size and biodiversity.

Such regions mostly possess grazers such as antelope, bison and zebra, which have attracted predators; lions, wolves and cheetahs. People who are interested in wildlife photography or in the safaris kind of experience, can find some of the most thrilling experiences in these grasslands as it helps to observe the natural behaviors of animals.

6. Lookouts and Observation Towers

In some cases, a view of a sanctuary cannot be beaten. There are scenic lookouts and observation towers with a panoramic view of the surrounding environment giving one a bird-view of various ecosystems in the sanctuary. These viewpoints tend to open up the chance of you seeing wildlife at a distance which would cause no disturbance to their natural habitat.

The mountain sanctuaries are usually the pride of any preserved zone. These mountain areas present spectacular lookouts of the scenery in front, in the profound valleys to the far away horizon. These peaks are a miniature paradise with the crisp, clean air and spectacular scenery that do not leave indifferent hikers, climbers and nature lovers.

7. Caves and Rivers under the Ground

Sometimes caves are overshadowed by more open surroundings, but have their beauty as well. There are sanctuaries with inaccessible caves and underground rivers which are worth exploration. Underground caverns lie here, with unique species like bats, insects living in caves, and unusual fungi. Caves also house sensitive subsurface eco systems that have developed independently of the overland counterparts.

The uniqueness of Periyar is that the boat safaris through the calm water of Periyar Lake allow sighting wildlife and a glimpse of the wildlife is possible. One can also have trekking safaris within the rich terrain of the park and the naturalists will explain to the visitors all they need to know about the flora and fauna. The best period to come is September to March.

Conclusion

Every destination has a different landscape, wild life, and cultural experience to offer, which makes each safari different. Sightseeing safari in the rainforests hunting down rare species, river safaris, or just simply enjoying the tranquillity of pristine sceneries, these are just some of the world class wildlife experiences you will have in the places. Well, then, prepare your gear and get set to have a wild experience like never before, your next jungle safari is upon you!
